Lucas is mobile!

Lucas is now mobile! He goes EVERYWHERE! When you try to chase after him he goes faster and he laughs at you. He also loves to pull himself up on things now. The only bad part is what goes up must come down and too often he comes down on his head. = (

Here Comes Danger!

Austin's new name for Lucas is "Danger." He's started announcing "Here comes Danger" when Lucas is near. = ) Last night Austin was asleep on the couch and Danger decided to have a little fun with his brother.

Austins 3rd Birthday!

For Austin's birthday this year we bought him a bike. We also bought him some books. We gave him the books first since they are more on the boring side and then hid the bike. Then Dan called him into the bedroom because he found another present. Watch the video below! = )

Austin's Birthday Party

I have this horrible problem of feeling like I don't or can't do enough for my boys. I can't afford to take them to fun places all the time. I can't afford to stay home with them. Unfortunately work takes a lot of my time, even though it shouldn't the reality is it does. In fact the other night I was playing trains with him and he kept saying, "This is so fun building with my mommy." And all I kept thinking is..."I have to do this more with him!" So for his birthday this year I wanted to do something special for him and thought having a big party and taking him to Organ Stop Pizza would be a lot fun for him. It's kinda of like dinner theater where you go and there is this really neat huge organ and the organ player plays all kinds of music as well as other instruments. Austin loves music so, perfect, right? So the day of the party arrives and the poor thing gets sick. He needed to go to the bathroom #2 but his body wasn't cooperating. So it's time to go to the party and he refuses to get in the car. It wasn't like a whiny refusal either. It was a scared, blood curdling refusal. So Dan had to go to the party without us because we had a reservation and people arriving etc. This is where I feel like the worst mom in the world. There was nothing I could do to help him except give him a laxative and wait. An hour later he finally was able to go and told me, "I feel happy now mommy." So by the time we got to his party we had missed dinner and people were already starting to have to leave. We had missed the organ man singing happy birthday to him and we had to rush and cut the cake so people could eat before they left. I wanted to just start over. I'm just glad that at 3 he didn't know the difference. After we settled and he relaxed he began to have lots of fun and so did I. I am very appreciative of everyone who came and stayed regardless of the fact that Austin wasn't there for a while. I hope everyone had a great time! Next year we're staying home. = )
